Christmas in Dixie!

❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️  IT SNOWED!!!!!!!  ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

Last week Santa sent us an extra special early Christmas surprise. I have never seen our farmhouse in the snow and it was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Breathtaking! I woke up a little earlier than Baker and saw it for myself first. I just knew he'd be over the moon excited. I patiently waited for him to wake on his own and then I heard him squeal... he had looked out his bedroom window to discover IT WAS CHRISTMAS!!!!

Kinda. 😳😂

It took a lot of discussion/coercion/convincing to explain that it wasn't quite Christmas Day or time for presents just yet. But that we were going to get to play in the snow! And build snowmen! And make snow angels! And Sled!

The weatherman said we might get a little dusting but it snowed and snowed and SNOWED! All day and all night! We ended up with about 7+ inches. A very rare treat for us southerners! I snapped about a thousand photos and we played in the snow for three days. It felt like being inside our own snow globe. Our very own Christmas miracle!

Here are a few snapshots from our winter wonderland this season. Every year I use less and less store-bought decor and incorporate more handmade, vintage and heirloom Christmas pieces in our home. Makes the holiday extra special in our eyes!

Merry Christmas from Stillwater Farm!

Baker chopped his own tree right out of the backyard this year!

Christmas cozies and a cuppa cheer! ☕️
I used WiltPruf spray (you can find it on Amazon!) on all my live greenery this year and everything preserved so beautifully! It also helped save my topiaries during our big snow event. I'm definitely a believer!
The sweetest Christmas memories!
Only a few more sleeps until this room is covered in toys and filled with joy!

Baker decorated his own room this year! He always asks for "magic" in his room each holiday. He says his tree is the BEST nightlight ever!

Daddy was at the fire hall for the first snowfall but got home in time to play before the snow melted!

Our winter wonderland!

Blurry because the camera was getting pelted by snowflakes but we take a yearly picture with pecan tree! Last year he was in a bathing suit eating a popsicle!

Deer tracks everywhere!!!

Santa made a special appearance at Columbiana FD!

  2. Beautiful pictures! Love all your decorations. Can you say where you found that sled? We are in Virginia and get lots of snow. There is a little grandson in our life who would enjoy a safe sled!

  3. I have COMPLETELY fallen in love with your home. Partly because it is just an absolutely BEAUTIFUL home and you should feel very proud at how incredible you have made it. People around the world should see this home and think now THIS is how Americans picture homes in our country should be. (well...some of them anyway). The other reason is the big white house with clapboard and the black shutters looks SO much like the home my mom grew up in and where my grandmother lived till I was about 10 years old. She was alone on the farm at this point and despite both physical and financial help SOME of her children were giving her she just was not able to manage it. It had been a working farm which she had been scaling down ever since my grandfather died when I was 8 months old. It broke my mom's heart it had to be sold and my parents wanted to purchase it very badly but they had just built their own home a few years earlier and were tied down with that responsibility. But it did my heart joy to see yours and to dream what that house could have been had we been able to keep it in the family. I've seen it decorated for 4th of July also, I'm not sure wish I like better but as much as I LOVE snow, I think I have to say the 4th. You almost had me in shock when at first I thought you meant you woke on Christmas morning to a snow like this. That's a fairy tale just about every person in America has for Christmas. Sadly we've had very little snow this year. Today its 75 degrees, no snow today. Keep putting your home online, its a joy to see.

  9. In Virginia, law enforcement officers can indeed file for protective orders. The law permits any person, including law enforcement officers, who has been subjected to or has reason to believe they are in imminent danger of domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault to file for a protective order. Law enforcement officers have the same rights and procedures available to them as any other individual seeking protection under Virginia's protective order laws. It's essential to consult with an attorney or contact the local court for specific guidance and assistance in filing for a protective order.
